When you visit the home of actor Nishvika Naidu in Bengaluru, you will be greeted by warm licks from her six-month-old Cocker Spaniel, Junior Leo, and the year-and-a-half-year-old Indie, Lulu. On International Dog Day, Nishvika shares her love for her furry friends. She expresses, "I have always had a special affection for dogs. I have wanted a dog for as long as I can remember, but my mom was hesitant, citing the maintenance involved. However, for one of my birthdays, I brought home a puppy named Leo, who became our beloved pet. Unfortunately, Leo passed away last December."
Nishvika recounts how Lulu came into their lives unexpectedly when her mother rescued the dog near their apartment two years ago. Originally planning to find another home for Lulu, they ended up keeping her and she quickly became part of the family. After Leo's death, Nishvika brought home Junior Leo, lovingly known as Juny, to help her mother through the difficult time. Nishvika emphasizes her stance against purchasing dogs, but she made an exception for Junior Leo to bring joy and comfort to her family.
Nishvika notes the joy of being welcomed home by enthusiastic and loving dogs after being away, and she looks forward to these heartwarming moments. Despite Lulu and Junior Leo occasionally causing havoc in the house by chewing on belongings, Nishvika finds it impossible to stay angry at them for long.Hey, you are filled with nothing but love, and you ultimately end up forgiving them.
